Sensors
Non-contact infrared sensing is used across all PDR systems to measure component temperature without physical contact. On E3, E6, and Q3 systems, this sensor is also used to monitor PCB temperature, enabling independent temperature measurement of both the component and the board.
The contact probe is used as the PCB temperature sensor on E2 systems, providing direct temperature measurement through physical contact with the board. This method is particularly effective for heavily populated PCBs, where stable and consistent PCB temperature feedback is required.
Wire thermocouples are used for PCB temperature measurement on E1 systems, offering a simple and cost-effective sensing solution. This approach provides reliable thermal feedback while keeping the system accessible for essential manual rework applications.
